Action plan on socially responsible public procurement

The action plan on socially responsible public procurement is now ready. It describes how the ministry will convert its own policy into sustainable action on procurement.

BZ works at international level for a safer and more liveable world. And the ministry wants to show that we walk our talk by ensuring that our international aims are reflected in our operational management. We also want to set a good example for other government authorities, businesses and organisations both at home and abroad.
The Procurement Management Division supports BZ’s goals by spending the ministry’s annual budget of €230 million as sustainably as possible. It’s quite a challenge – given that we’re active at 150 locations all over the world. So we’re encouraging the whole organisation to help us. The action plan on socially responsible public procurement* describes how we will do this.

SRPP Manifesto
The action plan is one of the conditions set out in the Socially responsible public procurement manifesto. With this manifesto, government authorities at all levels agreed to help meet the challenges of these times by making sustainable choices in procuring products and services. The manifesto focuses on supply chain responsibility, encompassing issues like environment, climate, the circular economy and international social conditions.
